Mild cognitive impairment is a clinical condition where an individual develop changes to their memory, language, thinking of judgement, which is not serious enough to affect their daily life activities. Mild cognitive impairment is not part of a normal ageing process and individuals with MCI has increased risk of developing dementia, for example Alzheimer’s disease in the future.
Subjective memory complaints confirmed by patients themselves or others
One or more cognitive domains impaired (e.g. memory, language, visual-spatial skills)
Able to perform activities of daily living independently
Absence of dementia
